We are now in week 2.  Mr. Schroter & Mr. Ray are enjoying our time with the orchestra students!

8th Grade: students should be fully prepared for class with instrument, binder, and a pencil.

7th Grade: students should be fully prepared for class with Essential Elements book 2, instrument, binder, and a pencil.

6th Grade: Welcome to orchestra! Please bring your instruments in to school as you receive them.  We will look them over and set them up with position markers.  All instruments and materials for 6th grade should be in class by Monday, 8/27.  The book to get is Essential Elements 2000 for Strings, book 1.  Don't forget to label your cases and books!

6th Grade Orchestra Registration Information.

Dear 6th Grade Parents,
It was very nice to meet some of you at our music open house.  We are looking forward to this great bunch of 6th graders.  On Friday, we will collect registration forms during connections time, and your child will officially be a member of the Durham Orchestra!

Additionally, we will have a 6th grade orchestra parent night on Tuesday, 8/21 at 6:30PM. This is where we will be able to cover all of the "nuts and bolts" of the orchestra program, help you find the right instrument rental/purchase, and answer any other questions that you may have.
This meeting would be especially helpful for parents who are new to the orchestra program at Durham.
